Just Chillin"

Weather is great in Raleigh this weekend so we took advantage of it yesterday.  We strolled to an old neighbourhood in downtown Raleigh called "Idlewild" for the annual Cooke Street Carnival.  It is a small festival, only about oneblock which makes it great as we just sat on the grass, chilled and listened to the Bands.

Kerbi even had a good time chillin' with us.

Here's to enjoying the gorgeous weather today.......... the hammock in our back yard is calling our name.
I'm off.  See ya!

Too pretty not to share

These Dahlias come up year after year in our garden and never fail to disappoint.  When I cut them and bring them to work, people ask are they real!  Nature at its finest.

We're still here

Yes we haven't "blogged" for quite some time.  Been busy with other projects which is a good thing.  Anyway, thought we'd share some photos we took the last month or so.

A storm passed through in Early August,  here is a photo of the sky afterward and no, I didn't apply any filters.  They sky was really that color, it was eerie.

A good friend of ours,  Tom, visited us last month with his daughter Sydney.  It was great to see them and show them around Raleigh.

Good friends Dan and Tom.

Hot day, we had to stop for an ice pop

Did someone say food!

Here are some photos of Mr or Mrs Praying Mantis, a frequent visitor to our garden.

It has been a while.

It is hot and sunny here.  Poor flowers aren't getting too much rain.  I planted this Bee Balm in the garden last year and boy did it take over.  It is like an airport here somtimes with the Humming Birds flying past us to get to the flowers.

As I take Kerbi for a walk each morning, one of my favorite things is passing the Mimosa tree in one of our neighbors gardens.  It has such a sweet fragrance and I the flowers remind me of baby Egrets or Cranes.

Anyway here is her ladyship looking good as we got her hair trimmed for the hot weather.

That is one happy face!

Our first day at the Midtown Farmers Market was a lot of fun. Getting upat 6:00am was my least favourite part. Will try and get a more colorful display on our table for next week
Now here is Dan posing beside our blackboard.

Welcome Spring

First day of Spring...... and I love it....all the flowers. We had a very mild winter so there are blossoms everywhere. Our Hibiscus has actually bloomed too!!!

One of my favourite trees......... Eastern Redbud is in full bloom at the moment. I'll take a photo this weekend and upload it. It is truly a gorgeous tree.

Well another year begins.....

Happy New Year to everyone.

Who would have thought that you could work on your suntan on New Years day here in North Carolina. Well that is exactly what Dermot did. He took advantage of this great weather and lay in the hammock for a while.

The nice weather continued Monday so we went to Wilmington for the day. Dan even went in the water for his usual Polar Bear swim.

Kerbi enjoyed herself no end running around in the sand.

Here is Dermot on Wrightsville Beach.

Hey if this is our Winter......... I'll be very happy!
